300 gr. of Noro Kochoran
300 gr. of Trendsetter Voila
or comparable yarns
K-10.5 (6.5 mm) crochet hook
2 stitch markers
Tapestry needle and matching embroidery thread
FRONT:
Hold 1 strand of each yarn together throughout.
Chain 112.
Row 1: SC in 9th chain from hook. *chain 5, skip 3, SC in next chain. Repeat from * across. 27 loops. Chain 1 and turn.
Row 2: 3 SC LOOSELY in first chain 5 loop. *Chain 5, SC in next ch 5 loop. Repeat from * across. Chain 1 and turn
Row 3 & 4: Repeat row 2.
Row 5: 3 SC LOOSELY in first chain 5 loop. *Chain 7, SC in next ch 5 loop. Repeat from * across. Chain 1 and turn
Row 6: Repeat row 2.
Row 7: Repeat row 5
Row 8: Repeat row 2
Row 9 to 27: Repeat row 5 to end.
Last row: Instead of chain 1 and turn, do 3 SC to finish edge.
BACK: repeat front exactly.
Attach front to back at shoulders leaving a 5 to 6 inch space for head. Put markers at the 2 points your neck edge starts on either side. Match ends of triangles exactly and stitch with whip stitch to marker using matching embroidery floss. I like to use all 6 strands.
Fringe: Cut 3 of each yarn 13 inches long. Fold in half and attach every other row on edge starting at bottom of V. You can also add in other yarns or embroidery floss to each section of fringe.
Hint!!: Use stitch markers at the end of each row to keep your place. Move the stitch markers down as you start a new row.
Special thanks to my pal, Marlo, (http://www.marloscrochetcorner.com/) for her instructions on how to join the shoulder seamlessly
"I held the 2 pieces wrong sides together and sl st into the first ch
5 at the top, ch 3, go to the next ch 5 on the opposite piece, sc in
the ch 5 sp , ch3, go to the opposite piece, sc in the ch 5 sp, ch
3 keep repeating this until the side is closed to the part that you
want. Repeat the same thing on the other side."

By using an M Hook the spaces will be larger and look more like the poncho to the left. I used Panda Bella Soft for this one..
.
If you use an H or I hook and only chain 5 spaces it will fit a girl..
